Jessica Simpson set tongues a waggin' this morning on Capital Hill as our loyal underpaid Hill dwelling readers were quick to point out. The blond singer/actress was in town to lobby Congress in support of Operation Smile, a non-profit that offers free surgery to disadvantaged children overseas with facial deformities.

Simpson is Operation Smile's International Youth Ambassador. She attended a Capital Hill press conference (show above) with Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., who was arguably the most popular guy on the Hill today.

The busty Dukes of Hazard star, famous for.. well nothing.., skipped and invitation to tonight's National Republican Congressional Committee fundraiser as a guest of House Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. President Bush is the headliner there. While Simpson may have begged off, porn star Mary Carey is becoming a fixture at the event.
