Officials Investigate Child's Skull Fracture At Britney Spears' Home (Wizbang Pop!)

Star Magazine reports it, and ET and Associated Press confirm that Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (with a Sheriff's escort) visited the Malibu home of Britney Spears last weekend. They were their to investigate the the skull fracture suffered by their 7-month-old baby. From the Star Magazine report:

On April 7, when Britney Spears and Kevin Federline realized that their baby, Sean Preston, had been sleeping more than usual, panic bells went off. Just six days earlier, the 7-month-old had taken a major fall from his high chair, a tumble that had his parents worried that he might have been critically injured.

They had every right to fret. After rushing Sean to a nearby hospital, they discovered he had a minor skull fracture (sometimes called a "scalp fracture" in babies), and a blood clot. And the doctors weren't the only ones to take notice! The next day, the Department of Children and Family Services began looking into the incident.

It's not so unusual for a child to fall out of a high chair - though most parents actually use the provided straps to keep the children in. What is unusual is that Britney and Kevin waited six days to seek medical attention, for a potentially deadly injury. WTF is that all about?

Did they even call the doctors office after baby Sean fell to seek some medical advice? Even if the fall isn't worthy of an emergency room visit, a pediatrician will usually want to see the child in the office within a few days to make sure there's no problem...

Update: People Magazine has a new story in which the details are fleshed out a bit more, and the nanny gets the blame. The good news is that the doctor was called the day of the accident.

They should have had enough brains to strap baby Sean in so none of this would happen. Now that I look at it. Famous people should not have children. If Sean gets taken away by Social Services then it is for all good cause. Any child under the age of 14 should be taken care of better. and babies from the moment they are born to the end of time should be watched just a bit more carfully by their parents. Apparently the nanny dropped him and they did take him to the doctor that day. That doctor said everything was alright. Not to excuse them, but they did go to the doctor earlier.

Anyways that's beside the point of this article. Britney was prob scared and concerned about her baby not wanting to take it to the doctor. She prob didnt even know that it was hurt. Baby's skulls are soft still, but that dosent mean they are rubber... Its BONE (wow!!). Thought whoever posted that before would like to know. Good luck Brittney. I am 26 years old and I have a 6 year old girl and when she was a baby she did have 2 accidents and they both involved her head. She ran into an edge of a counter and it broke the skin on her forehead about an inch long right in the middle above her nose and the second time was when she fell down and bumped her head. She was about 3 years old then. I felt horrible and like a bad mother, but it happens and that is what sets you apart from being a good or bad parent. It is how you respond to the accident if you just do nothing child services have every right to come in. But if you do everything you can then thats life. Thanks and please stop talking bad about Britney she is human and if she reads all of these bad responses then nothing good can come of it.
