>>>Before a million and one Spear-aficionado's start up the 'she's only human' posts, dropping your baby is an accident. We get it. Improperly placing your child in a car seat is not. Suck it up.
Bit testy there, trikc? Question for you: if improperly placing your child in a car seat isn't an accident, how come 80%-90% of parents do it?
I'm not a "Spear-aficionado" by any means. The woman is a no-talent hack who is only famous and rich because other people decided she would be. She cannot sing, she cannot compose music, she cannot act and she cannot dance. Shakira has more talent in her pinky finger than Spears has in her entire bloodline. I don't mind making fun of the train-wreck her life's become; I think that's about what a no-talent hack deserves.
But I'm disgusted by the constant cheap shots at her parenting skills. "OMG that baby is in a convertible on a sunny day WITHOUT A SUN HAT?!?!" Yeah, let's take her baby away and lock her up for that. :P
Please, do keep posting pictures of her looking fat, ugly and unhappy. Those are fun. But so far everything she's been criticized for in regards to parenting, ordinary people do on a regular basis. All the pissing and moaning about her poor parenting skills is just that: pissing and moaning. And it's coming from people to arrogant (or maybe too stupid) to admit that they're no better at it than she is.

Sorry Clobber, everyone I know with babies knows to slap a hat and some sunscreen on them when they go out. I know the new carseat rules haven't been around that long, but everyone I know with babies know about the rules. And riding around with a baby on your lap while you drive has pretty much been a no-no since before Brittany was born.
Just because other people are stupid is no excuse. It also occurs to me that other superstars have babies and aren't being caught doing dumb crap. Probably because they aren't.
I do feel bad for her kids. They are doomed.

Dear Maureen,
>>>Sorry Clobber, everyone I know with babies knows to slap a hat and some sunscreen on them when they go out.
I guess everyone you know also has magical babies whose hats, shoes, socks and pants always stay magically put. I'm only familiar with the normal kind of babies though, and I can't have a friend's kids over for five minutes without finding some article of clothing left behind. The point: maybe Brit slapped a hat on the kid and it rolled off into the back seat while he was napping. But all you judge-MENTAL folks with your magical time-traveling x-ray vision have somehow been able to deduce that she made no attempt to put a hat on the kid whatsoever, AND that he wasn't wearing sunscreen (the photo showed that?!).
Yes, driving with her kid on her lap was stupid. That's a stupid mistake I'd never make. You know what though? I think I'll make some other stupid mistakes with my kids all on my own. And all you people who claim to never make stupid mistakes with your kids, never break the "recommended" car safety rules (intentionally or unintentionally), never lose your kid's sunhat or leave something in their reach which could be harmful to them... you're all liars, and bad ones at that.
And thank you, Momof5, for living in reality. Unlike some people.

You know I can't stand Mrs. Federline, but chill out dude.
So she's not the perfect mother? I see little kids with bike helmets all the time now, I didn;t have any growing up neither did anyone else. Does that make our parents "bad", er, no.
Would I tell someone today that not having their kid wear a helmet is "abuse"...only in someones fevered imagination.
So the la spears trips a little and baby gets joggled, not ideal I'm sure, but "generally" bad parenting? Get a grip.
Same with the baby seats. Chill man, it's not ideal but billions of babies survived far, far worse and it wasn't lousy parenting. Besides have you seen the modern baby seats? Are you kidding me? Astronauts got shot to the moon less complex contraptions.
As to sunscreen....Sure it's a good idea, at least until we find out it causes cancer or something, but is bad parenting to forget it, or not use it? Please. How many zillions of kids and infants grew/grow up without it, and have perfectly good parents. By all means keep them outof the sun, protect them, but for 5-20 minutes exposure it may not be worth the bother.
I get really tired of safety fascists, and child advocates who harp on the slightest infraction of some thing (that may be a very recent and perhaps not entirely accepted innovation, or not economically feasible, or not viewed by the parents as worth he bother, or even god forbid, an error) by someone famous as being prima facie evidence of neglect or abuse.

No car seat. ANd then having the baby slouched over like that! Her baby is as white as mine; and my little girl doesn't go out in the sun without sun block of some sort. The tripping; okay fine that was an accident. Everyone falls over; but whats in the glass. Bet she says it was water.
Or alcohol to drown away the fact that she destroyed her life by getting knocked up by that loser.

I am by no means a Britney fan. In fact I think she is trashy, stupid and has no talent. Riding down the highway with your baby in your lap is unexcuseable. Even in a minor accident he could have been killed or seriously injured. I do have an issue with these latest "offenses" people are accusing her of though. I am a mother of two and when my son was only 5 months old I stepped in a hole in someone's yard, fell and dropped him. He didn't get hurt, thank God, and I cried much harder than he did because I felt awful! It can happen to anyone! I am by no means a bad parent, but accidents happen even to the best parents. You hear all the time about people who beat their kids, starve them, molest them. These are the people who need to have their kids yanked from them as fast as possible and never returned. I agree if she continues to drive around with her son in her lap or engages in similar neglectful behavior, then something should be done, but the convertible incident and "almost" dropping her son are not neglectful or horrible things to do.
